Lotus silk is one of the rarest fabrics in the world. This scarf features an original artwork that depicts the wedding of Kuntī and King Pāṇḍu.
Endowed with virtue, beauty, and good attributes, Pṛthā (Kuntī), the daughter of Kuntibhōja, had large eyes. She was devoted to Dharma and engaged in great austerities. Pṛthā, the radiant maiden endowed with beauty, youth, and feminine virtues, was asked for by many kings. Kuntibhōja invited many kings and gave Pṛthā's hand in marriage at a Svayamvara.
The wise Pṛthā saw Pāṇḍu, tiger among kings, the best of the Bharatas, standing amidst kings in the middle of the platform. He had the pride of a lion, a broad chest, bull-like eyes and immense strength. Radiant like the Sun, he overshadowed the brilliance of all kings. Seeing Pāṇḍu standing in the royal assembly like Indra, the king of the gods, Pṛthā's heart became anxious, her body became overcome with passion, and her mind stirred suddenly.
Coyly, Kuntī placed a garland on Pāṇḍu's shoulder, choosing him as her groom. Kuntī's father then married her to him. With immeasurable good fortune, they were united in marriage like Paulomi and Maghavan (Indra). Having wedded them, Kuntibhoja honoured Pāṇḍu with various kinds of wealth and sent him to his city. Pāṇḍu started for his city with a great army adorned with many flags and pennants. He was praised and blessed by Brāhmaṇas and great sages.
When they reached Hastināpura, Pāṇḍu settled Kuntī in his palace.
