'The Reign of Satyavatī' Lotus Silk Scarf

₹7,000 - ₹11,000

Lotus silk is one of the rarest fabrics in the world. This scarf features an original artwork that depicts Satyavatī on the Kuru throne, arm outstretched, commanding Bhīṣma.

Her power was not inherited. It was forged.
Satyavatī wed King Śāntanu only after her condition was accepted — that her children would inherit the Kuru throne, and that their children would succeed after them, a decree that stripped Bhīṣma of his right as heir apparent.
Satyavati and Shantanu had two children — Citrāṅgada and Vicitravīrya. Before Vicitravīrya could come of age, Śāntanu departed this world, and Bhīṣma placed Citrāṅgada upon the throne.
Citrāṅgada rose as a king of rare virtue — wise, brave, and more valorous than all humans. He conquered gods, kings, and asuras, until a Gandharva bearing the same name challenged him. For three relentless years they battled, and in the end, the Gandharva slew him.
Thus, Vicitravīrya ascended the throne, still a child. And Bhīṣma — the unconquered son of Gaṅgā — ruled in his stead, placing himself under the command of Satyavatī.
